Upper Oldfield Park Road, Bath II
View of Johannesburg
Brief
To create an architecturally designed 100m2 side and rear extension built of reclaimed bath stone, glass, slate, with ground and first floor internal modernisation of existing building.
Project
Many hurdles had to be overcome including tricky footings due to soil type, weather and proximity to neighbouring property and of course Covid-19 national lockdown affecting our team, our clients, our industry & of course our country.
Retrospective
We were very pleased with pretty much every aspect of the project including; (1) the outcome/finish both internally and externally which included some unfamiliar techniques and materials something we very much enjoy, (2) the client communication to endure and succeed under increasingly difficult, unforeseen/unforeseeable and stressful conditions for all parties. (3) our process which stood up (most of the time) from conception to completion, to thorough forensic accountancy checking…thank you Chris…!! and (4) the ability to work in very close proximity with a lovely young family, who lived on-site with us for a year, which is an incredibly personal experience particularly that year! And navigate the boundaries of maintaining professionalism while becoming extremely fond of the family personally.
